 Working Disabled lets individuals with disabilities:

  • Work and earn a good income
  • Save for the future
  • AND have health care coverage

Who should apply for Working Disabled?

Arkansans aged 16 – 64 may be eligible if they:

  • Have a disability or disabling medical condition that meets the Social Security/SSI definition, except full-time employment is allowed.
  • Work and have work income reported to the IRS.
  • Receive no more than $623/month in non-work income, such as Social Security, workers comp, pension, etc.
  • Have limited savings and other assets.

Working Disabled Medicaid covers only the individual with a disability.  This program does not include family coverage. 

To apply, contact the local Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services office.
